Describing the film Total Siyyappa as anti-national and one which glorifies Pakistan, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Goa, a Hindu rightwing outfit on Wednesday demanded that the film be immediately banned.

Manoj Solanki, State Convenor of HJS, said on Wednesday that they have petitioned Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to immediately discontinue the exhibition of the film in the State.

The Samiti also approached the local cinema theatre owner to ask him to discontinue the screening of the film, he said.

The film starring Pakistani artist Ali Jafar, produced by Niraj Pande and directed by Ishwar Nivas, is exhibited in Goa and also all over the country from March 7.

The Samiti has approached the Central Board of Film Certification, seeking cancellation of the censor certificate issued to the film.
