March 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:10 am IST - SHIMLA:

The entire hill State on Sunday was slashed by high velocity winds resulting in an intermittent snowfall in the higher reaches and continuous rains in the lower alleviations. The Metrological Department here has also warned of a heavy snowfall and rains and an extremely inclement weather for the coming week. There are reports of a moderate snowfall in the tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and parts of Chamba. A number of high altitude resorts in Kullu and Shimla districts like Manali, Manikaran, Solang Nalla, Narkanda, Kharapathar, Kufri and Fagu also experienced heavy rain with intermittent snowfall on Sunday.

The Met Department has predicted heavy snowfall and heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by hailstorm in all these regions. The tribal districts and many other parts in the hill State are also facing a problem of electricity cut and no supply of water from past few days due to bad weather, said the officials.
