The Judicial Magistrate First Class issued notices to the Goa Crime Branch and Old Goa Police on Wednesday in connection with the alleged sex scandal involving Fisheries Minister Vinod Paliencar.

In the petition filed under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code, it has been also prayed that a F.I.R against advocate Rodrigues transferred on Tuesday evening to the Crime Branch be probed by any officer other than police Inspector Dattaguru Sawant.

Drawing the Court’s attention that he had  appeared in a case against against Mr. Sawant, Mr. Rodrigues in his petition has stated that he had also filed a complaint of disproportionate assets against Mr. Sawant.

Mr. Rodrigues has stated that he has bonafide reasons to believe that any investigation by Mr. Sawant will be biased as he will attempt to settle scores.

Pointing out to a November 27 attack on him at his office,  Mr. Rodrigues who has been pursuing alleged sex scandal of minister Paliecar has stated that the court needs to monitor the investigation as the accused who attacked him are politically very influential.

Magisterate Vaishali Lotlikar asked the two agencies to submit by December 12 their replies to a petition filed by activist lawyer Aires Rodrigues. The petition also demanded that case against Mr. Rodrigues be probed by an officer other than police inspector Dattaguru Sawant.
