The Goa government on Wednesday advertised for the post of two State Information Commissioners (SICs).
There have been no SICs for the State Information Commission since 2010. Moreover, the candidate’s selected or shortlisted were twice cancelled as the government said that there were inadvertent procedural lapses left in the appointment process of SICs.
However, right to information activists here have expressed surprise that the post of Chief Information Commissioner has not been advertised despite the post scheduled to be vacant on January 31 when Leena Mehendale retires.
