Four held for murdering property dealer

August 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:27 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Four persons have been arrested for allegedly abducting and murdering a property dealer from Ambedkar Nagar last week over a financial dispute.

The accused have been identified as Narender (27), Sonu (31), Sanjay (48) and Ankit (20). According to the police, on August 13, one Muskan Jaiswal lodged a missing complaint about her husband, Rajesh Jaiswal, at the Ambedkar Nagar police station. Rajesh had been missing since the previous evening.

“The next day the complainant came again to the police station and said that before leaving the house her husband had called up some people who were his neighbours. She suspected that her husband had been abducted by those persons,” said a senior police officer.

He added that the suspects named by the woman were also property dealers and they had a dispute.

Raids conducted

Several raids were conducted on the houses of suspected persons, but they were absconding. The police teams laid traps near their houses and managed to apprehend one Narender from Madangir.

“He confessed that there was a property dispute with Jaiswal who had recently sold a property adjoining his house. He said he hatched a conspiracy along with the other accused. As per their plan, they called Jaiswal on August 12 by telling him that they wanted to purchase the property at a higher rate and also asked him to bring the documents with him. When he arrived, they offered him drinks and subsequently put him in a car and shot him,” said the officer.
