Four crushed to death

Four persons were crushed to death and two others seriously injured by a truck in West Bengal’s North Dinajpur district on Friday.

The police said the incident took place when the victims were having tea at a roadside stall near NH-34 at Itahar at around 5.30 a.m.

The truck mowed them down and hit the tea stall after its brake failed, the police said.

Four persons died on the spot, the police said, adding the injured were rushed Raiganj district hospital where their condition was stated to be critical. - PTI
