Former Finance Minister Raghavji was released from Bhopal Central Jail on a bail of Rs. 1 lakh. The minister, who is facing charges of sexually exploiting a male aide, had been arrested on July 9 this year.

Although he was granted bail on Monday from the High Court in Jabalpur, his counsels only submitted a faxed copy of the order to Bhopal's Chief Judicial Magistrate on Tuesday. This was not accepted, following which the original documents were submitted, and his release was allowed.

On his release, he said that he would focus on his health and not on politics. "There was a conspiracy against me. I will fight elections if my party wants me to," he said.

Raghavji was expelled from the BJP, after the FIR against him was filed on July 7, 2013-08-14.
