Five killed in truck-van collision

Five persons were killed while seven others seriously injured in a truck-mini van collision in Bihar’s Bhojpur district on Friday.

Superintendent of Police Kshatraneel Singh said the incident occurred when a mini van (Maxi), carrying the passengers, collided head on with a truck coming from opposite direction at Mahavir Tola near Semrao Bazar under Charpokhri police station of the district.

Five persons died on the spot, the police officer said, adding that the bodies have been sent to Ara Sadar hospital for post-mortem.

The identities of the deceased have not been ascertained so far, the officer said.

Ara Sadar hospital Deputy Superintendent Satish Kumar Sinha said that out of the seven seriously injured persons, two have been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), for treatment.- PTI
