According to officials of Berhampur vigilance division, the Odisha Building & Other Construction Workers’ Board had sanctioned Rs.20,000 to each of these three registered labourers as financial support for marriages of their children. Boudh District Collector had issued cheques in the name of beneficiaries. The three labourers were Rajkishor Beheraof Kantamal, Basistha Gaigouria of Khuntabandha and Bijay Amar of Pudkhal. But the DLO had demanded bribe of Rs.3,000 to hand over the cheques to the beneficiary labourers.
