The Goa State Organising Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has backed the two candidates of the Communist Party of India (CPI) who are contesting the elections from the parliamentary constituencies in North and South Goa. Thalmann Pereira, Secretary, CPI(M), Goa on Monday appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday so as to ensure that the votaries of the neo-liberal economic policies are decisively rejected and Left ideology strengthened.

The CPI (M) has said that BJP is the main proponent of these anti-people policies and urged people to defeat the BJP candidates in both seats in Goa.
