CWG medal winners from Haryana to be felicitated

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday said Haryana’s medal winning players in the Commonwealth Games and their coaches will be felicitated at a public function.

“The Government would give cash awards to state’s players and coaches for bringing glory to the State and the country,” Mr. Hooda told reporters at Panchkula near here.

Announcing the awards Mr. Hooda said, the government would give cash awards of Rs. 15 lakh, 10 lakh and 5 lakh for players winning gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.

Whereas their coaches will be honoured with Rs. 3 lakh, 2 lakh and 1 lakh cash awards respectively.

On the sterling performance of players from the state in the Commonwealth Games, Mr. Hooda said that it was matter of great pleasure that the players have brought glory for the State and the country.

Players belonging to Haryana have so far won seven gold medals in the mega event.
