The ruling Congress is set to form the executive council in the 25-member Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) after winning a landslide victory in the polls.
The Congress, which contested all the seats bagged 19 seats, while the independent candidates were victorious in six and the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) which contested seven seats, drew a blank.
The Congress legislature party elected the present Chief Executive Member C. Ngunlianchunga as the leader, while the Laii Autonomous District Congress Committee chief F. Rohnuna was selected to become the chairman of the council.
The newly elected members would be sworn-in tomorrow and the new executive council would be formed on November 26.
