The Opposition parties on Tuesday came down hard on the Raman Singh-led BJP government in Chhattisgarh. All India Congress Committee’s communication head Randeep Singh Surjewala, in a statement, said that the government had failed on the internal security front.
“In the last 14 years and 95 days, the Raman Singh government has miserably failed on the internal security front. The CM promises swift action after every Maoist attack. However, he is yet to do something concrete to deal with it. The Modi government’s directionless policies have created disquiet both internally and externally. This attack exposes the hollow claims of the Modi government in controlling Naxalism,” Mr. Surjewala said in the statement.
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi’s Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) demanded Mr. Raman Singh’s resignation.
The CM was in Sukma hardly 36 hours before this attack and embarked on a motorcycle journey to give a false sense of satisfaction to the people of Chhattisgarh in an election year. All the security forces in Sukma had to focus on the CM’s trip. The Maoists took advantage of this situation and executed this attack. The CRPF men died because of the CM’s love for self-propaganda. He should apologise to the people and tender resignation immediately,” demanded Subrat Day, the spokesperson of the JCC.
