The police has arrested another uncle of the victim, who is reportedly the younger brother of the first accused.

A police official said that the latest arrest was made after the victim, during her counselling session mentioned the name of another relative. The second accused was arrested on charges of rape on Tuesday evening and the investigation was now underway.

Notably, the according to the forensic report, the DNA of the first accused did not match with that of the new-born baby delivered by the victim. Following this, the police had submitted an application in the court for allowing further probe in the matter.

The 10-year-old victim had delivered a baby girl on August 17 after the Supreme Court turned down her abortion plea. The pregnancy of the victim was discovered when she complained of stomach ache in July and was taken to the hospital, where it was found that she was around 30 weeks pregnant.

The victim was allegedly raped by her uncle repeatedly. The first accused, who is facing the charges of rape, was arrested on July 14 after an FIR was registered against him on the complaint of victim's mother.
