A BSF jawan was killed on Sunday night in Pakistan firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“A BSF jawan identified as Abhijeet Nanday of 119 battalion was killed in Pakistan firing on the LoC in Leepa Valley of Nowgam sector late on Sunday night, a senior police officer said on Monday.

“Indian troops retaliated effectively and firing exchanges in the area continued for several hours,” he added.

Pakistan Rangers also violated ceasefire agreement on the international border in Arnia sector of Jammu district on Sunday targeting BSF border outposts with small arms and automatics.
