The BJP is set to announce successor of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel in a meeting of the party’s legislators, including party chief Amit Shah, who arrived here on Thursday and held a series of one-to-one meetings with State leaders.

Among those who met Mr. Shah are senior Minister Nitin Patel, State BJP chief Vijay Rupani, Gujarat unit in-charge Dinesh Sharma, organising secretary V. Satish and Bhikhubhai Dalasania and Union Minister Purushottam Rupala, besides several State Ministers. Mr. Shah, however, did not meet Ms. Patel.

“The party legislators and office bearers will meet at 4 p.m. on Friday at the party headquarters in Gandhinagar to select a new leader to be Chief Minister,” said Vijay Rupani after meeting Mr. Shah.
