BJP spied on Mann, says AAP

August 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - New Delhi:

After Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan gave two weeks extension to a House panel probing AAP MP Bhagwant Mann’s videography issue, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders launched an attack against the BJP.

AAP leader Ashutosh claimed in a press conference on Wednesday that on July 18, “two officials of the Home Ministry” had showed up at a Naturopathy Clinic in Bengaluru, where Mr. Mann was undergoing treatment. The officials enquired about the Sangrur MP and took pictures, he claimed.

Mr. Ashutosh said that it amounts to an unprecedented witch-hunt where the entire BJP has ganged up against a lone MP.

The AAP leader said that this “vindicated” the party’s stand that its MPs and MLAs were being “hounded” by the Modi dispensation.

“The officials sought information about the purpose of Mr. Mann’s visit, his daily schedule there, details of his meetings, the treatment he received, and other personal information. They were spying on him,” Ashutosh said.
