The Bihar State Bar Council has given a call to advocates across the State to abstain from court work from Feb 15 to Feb 21 demanding denotification of constitution of evening courts in Bihar.

The General Body of the Bar Council in its meeting held today denounced the continuation of the evening courts between 7 pm to 9 pm in spite of repeated requests and took a decision to this effect.

The apex body of advocates took note of “violation of notification and transfer of cases of evening courts without consent of the contesting party”, state Bar Council Officiating Secretary Alok Kumar said.

The meeting presided over by state bar council chairman B P Sharma urged the lawyers to come forward and fight against rampant corruption in courts in the interest of general public.

The council has called a meeting of its General Body and has invited the presidents and general secretaries of all the Bar Associations on Feb 19 for taking stock of situation.
