Attempts on to douse Corbett park blaze

April 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:45 am IST - Dehradun:

A forest fire has been raging in the Kalagard range of Corbett National Park and its adjoining areas bordering Uttar Pradesh for the past three-four days even as forest authorities are making efforts to contain it.

There are no reports of death of any wildlife.

“Forest department is trying to extinguish the fire at the earliest,” Additional Chief Secretary S. Ramaswamy said.

He said the fire is raging in the Kalagard range in Uttarakhand and has also spread to the adjoining areas of Najibabad and other places in Uttar Pradesh.

However, the blaze has been doused in Jhirna and Saptdhuli zones of Corbett National Park. PTI
