The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday castigated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State Assembly for going back on its promises to the people and called the “Agenda for Alliance” a hollow document.
Mr. Abdullah quoted several statements and speeches of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’ just before the elections wherein he had made grave accusations of communalism against the BJP-RSS and urged the people to vote the PDP to power to protect the State from the right-wing BJP. “Are the BJP and the RSS less communal now? Have their agendas and designs changed? he said.
Mr. Abdullah said the common minimum programme between the PDP and the BJP was a hollow document, and while the PDP got concessions for itself in the Cabinet, it got none in the CMP.
He also criticised the PDP for withdrawing its order of respecting the State flag which is enshrined in the J&K Constitution.
