The arrest warrant issued against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray was cancelled by a magistrate court in Bandra in suburban Mumbai after he appeared in the court on Wednesday.

The court had issued an arrest warrant against Mr. Thackeray after he repeatedly failed to appear in the court in connection with a 2008 case where MNS activists beat up candidates from other States who had come to attend the Railway recruitment board exam in Chetana College, Bandra. Mr. Thackeray is an accused in the case. His lawyer Prashant Pansare said that since he appeared in the court, the warrant against him was cancelled.
