Amit Shah’s confidant may be Ahmedabad Mayor

BJP president Amit Shah’s confidant Gautam Shah is likely to be the new Mayor of Ahmedabad. The State BJP parliamentary board has cleared his name and it is to be announced on December 14. Pravin Patel will continue as chairman of the standing committee of the civic body.

Mr. Gautam Shah is a councillor from the Naranpura ward, which falls in the Naranpura Assembly constituency represented by BJP president Mr. Amit Shah and manages the Assembly segment on his behalf. Mr. Amit Shah lives in Delhi but frequently visits the city.

“ We will declare the names at a meeting on December 14,” said a BJP leader who is part of the State parliamentary board. “Mr. Gautam Shah will most likely be the new mayor of Ahmedabad,” he said.
