AAP moves into Himachal, plans mega rally in Una

April 04, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - SHIMLA:

After the tremendous response to the party’s campaign in neighbouring Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided to begin operations in Himachal Pradesh also. The party is organising a mega “Himachal Badlo Rally” in Una on April 5 to expose both the BJP and Congress and their compromise on corruption, said Subhash Chand, State spokesman for the party.

The rally will be addressed by AAP national spokesman and State party in-charge Sanjay Singh and Punjab Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Maan amongst others. Grand nephew of Bhagat Singh, Abhitej Singh, Delhi leader Durgesh Pathak and State convener Rajan Sushant would also participate in the rally, he said.

The people of the hill State will be made aware of the family rule of both the major parties and their unbridled involvement in corruption, Mr. Chand said.

The AAP has created ripples amongst the corrupt Akali Dal, BJP and Congress politicians and a similar drive would be initiated in the hill State also to expose the joint plunder by Congress and BJP politicians, Mr. Chand said.

Joint yajnas

Both the senior leaders of these parties, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal have been seen performing joint yajnas and repeatedly hugging each others at social gatherings. There is no opposition of corruption here and the State needs a third alternative, said the spokesman.

By not removing the incumbent Chief Minister, who is neck deep in corruption and facing charges of money laundering and disproportionate assets, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi are insulting the people of Himachal Pradesh, the AAP said, calling on people to participate in large numbers in the rally.

Meanwhile the State Vigilance Department has issued notices to former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to justify the sources of his properties in Himachal and neighbouring States. He has been given a questionnaire, Form-126, to mention his own and his family’s various properties and their sources of income.

According to sources it has been done immediately after the latest action of CBI in which all bank accounts of Mr. Virbhadra Singh and his family members have been seized by the investigative agency on Saturday.
