On the first day of the budget session of the Bihar legislature, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA crawled from his home to the State Assembly to demand construction of a road in his constituency in West Champaran district.
The MLA, Vinay Bihari, who represents Lauriya constituency, crawled wearing only a vest and a pair of shorts, and by the time he reached the gate of the Assembly, his knees were bruised and bleeding.
“I have requested [chief minister] Nitish Kumar, [deputy chief minister] Tejaswi Yadav and even [Union transport minister] Nitin Gadkari, asking them to get a road constructed in my constituency, but nothing has happened so far,” Mr. Bihari told reporters.
