57 insurgents lay down arms

Fifty-seven insurgents from three underground organisations, laid down arms at a homecoming ceremony here on Monday.

Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh welcomed them to the mainstream.

As many as 35 insurgents, including three women, belonging to the Kangleipak Communist party (K.K. Nganba group) came with 31 assorted weapons. Twenty insurgents of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Nongdren Khomba group) came overground with 16 weapons.
