Thirty-six personnel of Mumbai’s Nehru Nagar Police Station in suburban Kurla, including its senior inspector, have been suspended by the government for accepting bribes.
Caught on camera
The policemen were caught on camera accepting bribe in a sting operation carried out by one Mohammad Khan, who was was threatened by the policemen that he would be framed under false charges.
Strong signal
Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh told reporters on Thursday that the authorities wanted to send a strong signal to all police officers that there would be zero tolerance of such behaviour.
