At least 19 people, including five women and two children, were killed and several others injured today when the bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck on the Agra-Mumbai road near here.

The incident occurred at around 5 pm near village Dorana, about 30 km from this town.

Nineteen people — 12 men, five women and two children — were killed in the mishap, Guna Collector Mukesh Gupta told PTI. The bus was on its way to Guna from Kumbhraj town.

The Collector said the number of dead and injured could rise further as many passengers are still trapped inside the bus and efforts are on to rescue them.

The injured persons have been taken to the district hospital here.
