Only one line allotted to my house: Maran

June 02, 2011 11:20 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 01:26 am IST - CHENNAI:

Union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran said on Thursday that he would be ready to face the consequences if the charges against him were proved.

Speaking to journalists on arrival from Delhi at the Chennai airport, Mr. Maran strongly denied news reports that a number allotted to his residence was used as a virtual telephone exchange with 323 lines for the commercial use of Sun TV. He said the reports were a kind of “systematic, planned campaign started with the intention of defaming him, and his party.”

Mr. Maran showed a letter from BSNL in 2009, which said only one line was allotted to his residence.
