Another diplomat, Anil Verma, accused of assaulting his wife in London, is being transferred back, sources said.

Describing Mr. Jha's case as an “unfortunate incident,” the sources said the government had acted immediately on getting information about his alleged misbehaviour with women passengers. “The incident will be thoroughly investigated and a decision taken by the competent authority,” they said, declining to confirm reports of the wife of an Indian diplomat having reported the incident to New Delhi. “Mr. Jha is back and Mr. Verma already stands transferred back to the country,” said the sources.
