Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh ordered investigation agencies on Tuesday to take immediate steps to neutralise the terror modules of Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) suspected to be active in India. The Minister issued the order on receiving a detailed briefing from National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in the Bardhaman blast case.

A day after his visit to Bardhaman, Mr. Doval shared the findings with the Minister, along with Special Secretary (Internal Security) Prakash Mishra and the chiefs of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guards.

While four suspected JMB cadres have been arrested, the NIA plans to declare bounties on those absconding.

Investigation agencies have zeroed in on several suspects who had set up base in West Bengal, Assam and other States since 2007-08. The NIA investigation indicated that the two suspects killed in the October 2 explosion crossed over to West Bengal earlier this year.
