Scores of Dalits and women under the aegis of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) took out a rally and staged a demonstration at the district Collectorate here on Tuesday protesting the removal of T Rajaiah from Deputy Chief Minister post.
Led by MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga, sporting black badges and rising slogans against the ruling TRS party and Chief Minister K
Chandrasekhar Rao, they took out a rally in Hanamkonda.
Addressing the gathering, Krishna Madiga said they would continue to fight against the upper caste domination and discriminatory politics of Mr Rao. The Reddy and Velama communities which are negligible in Telangana State cornered majority of Cabinet berths while Dalits who form 17 per cent got only one post in the Cabinet. The MPRS would organise programmes awakening people in all constituencies of Telangana State against the TRS and mobilise them demanding due share to the Dalits in all spheres including political field. Describing Rajaiah’s removal as an ‘insult to Madiga’ community, Mr Krishna Madiga said it was the Dalits who were in the forefront of separate Telangana movement and it was the youth belonging to the community who died for the cause.
