Releasing the ‘Simhastha Declaration’ in Ninora village in Ujjain, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the capacity of Kumbh organisers. “Can we not tell the world about our organizing capacity with an event like the Kumbh,”asked Mr. Modi. “Look at our polls, its a wonder for the world...a nation so big & many voters. And see how EC organises elections,” he added, speaking at the valedictory session of the Mahakumbh .

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena who released the declaration along with Mr. Modi, pointed out that his first visit after being elected as President was to India. “And in a few weeks, you came to Sri Lanka,” he said to Mr. Modi.

“Let’s hold a Vichar Kumbh every year with devotees, and discuss why we need to plant trees and educate the girl child,” said Mr. Modi. “A 'holier than thou' attitude is taking us towards conflicts. Lets look within and see how we can grow ourselves,” he remarked.

Mr. Sirisena, who is in India for a visit, accompanied Mr. Modi to the Vaichaarik Mahakumbh.
