The Special Court for the National Investigation Agency granted permission to People’s Democratic Party leader and Bengaluru serial blast accused Abdul Nasir Maudany to visit his mother, and directed the City Police Commissioner to provide necessary escort.

The order was passed based on an application filed with the NIA court following a Supreme Court order, allowing Maudany to meet his ailing mother.

“The NIA court, based on the SC directions, fixed the date of travel from July 4 to July 12 and directed the city police to provide necessary security arrangements,” P. Usman, counsel for Maudany said.

The court has also directed Maudany not to speak to the media during his travel and not to tamper with evidence.
