Two boys found dead in car at rescue home

Two boys were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a locked car on the premises of a rescue home attached to a church at Padannakkad, near here, on Saturday.

The boys, identified as Abhishek, 7, son of Babu and Soumini, and Jeril Kishore, 6, son of Jisho, a resident of Kanni Vayal, near Chittarikkal, were found lying dead with blood oozing from their nostrils.

The children were residing in the Sneha Theeram orphanage attached to the Good Shepherd church.

The children who went out for playing were found missing by the nun around 4 p.m. The church authorities alerted the police who found the children lying dead in the closed car, the police said.

The bodies were shifted to the Kasaragod district hospital.

Suicide bid

Soumya, mother of Abhishek, who was also staying in the rescue home, is said to have attempted suicide recently for unknown reasons and had undergone treatment at the district hospital, sources at the hospital said.

Case registered

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
