The unexpected showers that lashed parts of the district on Sunday gave pleasant surprise to the people.
The drizzle that started from 10.30 a.m. in Kanhangad, Hosangadi and Manjeshwaram towns provided respite for the steadily rising day temperature.
It took many by surprise, as there was virtually no visible cloud formation that could lead to rains.
The nearly 30-minute-long drizzle ensured a pleasant day, as the skies by and large remained overcast. It was a welcome change to the people of the region who are bracing up to face an intense summer spell.
