: ‘Identity of Tolerance’ - a solo art exhibition by Somji ( K.A. Soman), former Deputy Commissioner, Taxes, drew the connoisseurs’ attention to several contemporary issues in society.

“The world is under the grip of intolerance in the name of religion, culture, language, gender, class and ethnicity. It has assumed dreaded dimensions in even food culture that has left people in fear and concern of peaceful co-existence,” Mr. Somji said

“We live in a world of intolerance masked as tolerance, Mr. Somji adds. His paintings reveal his anxiety over the growing intolerance.

Somaji, who has conducted many solo and group exhibitions has won several awards. His major art series include ‘Nostalgia segment - a compilation of Somji’s earlier works of 70s & 80s’; ‘Summer Rains’; ‘Unscripted Dreams’; and ‘Celebrity Syndrome’ ‘
