The valedictory function of Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala’s Padayorukkam campaign will be held on December 14, but the venue has been shifted from the Sangumughom beach here to Central Stadium, near the Secretariat.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will inaugurate the valedictory function at 5 p.m. on that day. Mr. Gandhi will also visit the Ockhi-affected areas in Vizhinjam and Poonthura and call on the families who had suffered loss of their loved ones.

Mr. Gandhi will also inaugurate the centenary celebrations of the late RSP leader Baby John.

The UDF high-power committee, which met here on Thursday, termed the Padayorukkam as a grand success.

The valedictory function was scheduled to be held on December 1 at the end of a month-long campaign against the faulty policies of the BJP-ruled Central government and the LDF-ruled State government, but was postponed on account of the cyclone.
