New education portal to help students, teachers

T.P. Sethumadhavan, an education consultant and Director of Entrepreneurship of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, has come out with a free education portal www.nextedu.in for aspiring students, teachers, and parents.

‘‘Top skills are required for getting better career in the era of information technology,’’ Mr. Sethumadhavan said adding that the portal was an online resource for students, teachers, and parents.

As technology and portfolio skills created new hybrid model for online career, skill-based science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are the new areas of higher education across the world. Connectivity, smart services, online services, and knowledge industry were emerging globally, he said.

The portal will focus on all aspects of education starting from higher secondary to post-doctoral level. This includes educational opportunities within the country and abroad, prospects, procedures, proficiency examinations, career prospects, selection of courses, educational consultancy, educational news, trends, analysis, top-rated educational institutions, campus placements. and many more on education and career.

This will facilitate as a single source of information for students, parents and teachers, Mr. Sethumadhavan said. It took nearly two years to complete the stakeholder-based knowledge portal, Mr. Sethumadhavan said.

Technology was transforming into digital, disruption, real, rapid, and relevant mode. New areas include enterprise technology to cloud and genomics revolution to sequence human genomes. Rapid changes such as digital technology were taking place in the super connected world in the complicated ecosystem. Connection leads to direct personal relationships to build profiles, understand, engage and re-engage deeper relationships. There will be more employment opportunities in the manufacturing services, digital, media, advertising, , management , Mr. Sethumadhavan said.
