An autorickshaw driver was arrested on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor girl on Monday.
The victim was returning home in the vehicle after taking part in the Independence Day celebrations at her school. A. Suresh, 47, a resident of Madhur, was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and remanded in judicial custody. The incident came to light after the girl informed her family, who alerted the school authorities. The matter was taken up with Childline, who alerted the police.
