V.R. Krishna Iyer, former judge of the Supreme Court, who has been in hospital since Friday, developed weakness on the left side of the body on Tuesday. After a CT scan, done on neurological advice, medication was started.

Earlier, on Monday, he was put on a liquid diet through a nasal feeding tube, as he had been disinclined to take food orally for the past few days. He has high sodium levels and an abnormal heart rhythm. His blood pressure is being maintained and blood oxygen saturation is being maintained using a mask. However, blood investigations show worsening renal parameters. Mr. Iyer’s condition is being reviewed by a panel of specialists at the Medical Trust Hospital where he is under treatment of cardiologist Manu R. Varma.
