S. Adarsh, the top achiever among candidates from Scheduled Tribes in the Kerala engineering entrance test, may not join any of the colleges in the State but opts for the Integrated B.Sc. Programme at the Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru. He has already passed the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana and is preparing for admission at the premier institution.

“If the IISc programme did not materialise, I would have joined a mechanical engineering programme in Kerala,” he told mediapersons at his residence near Manarcadu on Monday.

Son of N.J. Shajimon and C.S. Sindhu of Nellickasseril House at Erumappetti, Adarsh passed out with 93.4 per cent marks for Plus Two from Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Puthuppally, this year. Though he went for entrance coaching, this was his first chance at the entrance. According to him, discipline and consistency in studies had helped him earn laurels in the exam. His father is a government employee and mother is with LIC. His sister is a class seven student at KV Puthuppally.
