The Congress will soon float a national-level organisation to organise the farmers, party leader and Union Minister of State for Agriculture K.V. Thomas has said. He did not reveal the details as the formal announcement has to be made by the All India Congress Committee.
Professor Thomas’ announcement came in the wake of criticism from the executive committee of the Kerala Karshaka Congress that the party leadership in the State was apathetic to the Karshaka Congress .
He pointed out that the party needed an effective mechanism to bring the actions taken by the Centre for the farm sector to the farmers.
