Philipose Mar Chrysostum, senior Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Church, has called upon the Chief Minister to take the initiative to provide home for all homeless in Kerala.

Mar Chrysostum was talking to the Chief Minister during the latter’s visit to the Bishop’s House on the banks of river Pampa at Maramon on Sunday afternoon.

Close on the heels of the Zero Landless project, the Government should launch yet another landmark scheme aimed at making Kerala a ‘Zero Homeless State’, said Mar Chrysostum.

The Metropolitan said the financial assistance to the homeless should be delivered through the local self-government institutions, avoiding middlemen.

Mr. Chandy has released the teleserial on the metropolitan, ‘Mar Chrysostum speaking’, made by Mathew Koshy Punnackadu, former principal of Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara, on the occasion.

He said Mar Chrysostum’s criticism laced with humour had a strengthening effect on the society as a whole and people seldom question it.

Joseph Mar Barnabas Metropolitan, Fr P.T.Thomas, Mar Thoma Church secretary; Peelipose Thomas, former Planning Board member; Sasi Philip, lawyer; Royce Mallasserry, Kozhencherry St Thomas College principal, and Prof Punnackadu were present.
