CM to open valedictory of 125th anniversary of college

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the valedictory function of the 125th anniversary celebration of his alma mater, Government Brennen College at Dharmadam at Thalassery, here on August 8.

A press release issued by the college here on Wednesday said that the Chief Minister would inaugurate the function at 2.30 p.m. on the day.

This will also be his first official function in his constituency after assuming office.

Law and Backward Classes Development Minister A.K. Balan, who is also a former student of the institution, will inaugurate the renovated college auditorium, which has remained unutilised since its construction in 1968 because of acoustic problems.

The 7,000 sq ft auditorium has been renovated at a cost of Rs.70 lakh, the statement said.

Education Minister C. Ravindranath and MPs P.K. Sreemathi, Mullappally Ramachandran, Richard Hay, E. Ahamed and K.K. Ragesh will be present, according to the statement.
