Two children were injured when suspected country-made bombs exploded in a compound of the house near Taliparamba while they were playing on Sunday.

Police said that 12-year-old Arjun and 9-year-old Akash, both relatives, were playing inside the compound of their neighbour's house at Kadamberi under the Taliparamba police station limits on Sunday morning. They said that the house was owned by a Communist Party of India (Marxist) activist. Akash suffered minor injuries in his left hand and Arjun sustained injuries in his right eye and fingers.

According to the police, explosion occurred when the children opened a card-board box found in the compound. The children were immediately rushed to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital.
