Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Uttar Pradesh K.P. Singh, MP, said here on Friday that the people of Kerala should bring the BJP to power if the State was to enter the path of true development. BJP-led governments in the various States and at the Centre had development as the main agenda, he said.

Mr. Singh said this while inaugurating a BJP campaign to spread awareness about the tactics of the Congress and Left parties to allegedly misguide the people by bringing Parliament to a standstill. The campaign was part of a nation-wide exercise by the BJP.

He said Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand were simultaneously created States. But Jharkhand had registered big development because the BJP was in power there all throughout. By bringing Parliament to a standstill, the Congress and the Left parties have exposed themselves as parties opposed to development, he alleged.

“The people of Kollam should ask their MP why he joined hands with the Congress to stall the Goods and Service Tax Bill, which was aimed at benefiting the common man.

BJP State secretary J.R Padmakumar, who addressed the campaign, said the Congress in the State was shamelessly taking credit for the projects declared by the Modi government for Kerala.
