The government will implement various development projects at Sabarimala with foresight so that it will be beneficial to pilgrims in a big way, Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson has said.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Thomson said he convened a meeting of various government departments and other stakeholders at the Collectorte conference hall here on Friday evening to review the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Vishu festival at Sabarimala that would begin on April 10. He said officials in the rank of Sub Collector would be deployed in rotation at Sabarimala to lead a monitoring committee for ensuring proper coordination among government agencies, the TDB and other stakeholders during the pilgrimage season. The Chief Secretary released a project report prepared by the district administration on its ongoing plastic-free Sabarimala campaign.
