Youth urged to be catalysts of change in society

R. Vishal, Deputy Commissioner, said on Saturday that youth should bring in whatever positive changes were possible in their surroundings.

He was speaking after inaugurating the one-day training programme for students and programme officers of Youth Red Cross wings of colleges in Udupi district, organised here by the district unit of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and Mangalore University. Mr. Vishal said that youth should become catalysts for change. After completing their education, when they move to other places due to their jobs, they should bring about constructive change there.

Vineetha Rai, Chief Coordinator of Youth Red Cross Wing, Mangalore University, said that it was duty of all people to help their fellow beings.

Basrur Rajeev Shetty, chairman of State unit of IRCS; Jagadish Shetty, principal of Poornaprajna College; and Ramachandra Kamath, professor in Department of Community Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, were present.
