Youth accuses in-laws of assaulting him

A youth was assaulted, allegedly by his father-in-law, on the premises of the court complex in the city on Friday.

The police have said that, Shashikiran, a resident of Bengaluru was married to one Sowmya, a resident of Urgadur locality in the city. Owing to marital discord, the couple had been living separately for the past few days.

The hearing with regard to the case on the marital dispute between them was held at the Court of Second Additional Civil Judge here on Friday. In the complaint lodged with Jayanagar police, Mr. Shashikiran has said that, when he came out of the court hall after the hearing, Ramesh, his father-in-law, brother-in-law Sandesh and Umesh, a relative of his wife, assaulted him with lethal weapons.

It is said that the complainant had rushed inside the court complex to save his life. He was immediately hospitalised with the help of the police.

Counter-complaint

Meanwhile, Mr. Ramesh has also lodged a counter-complaint with the police alleging that Mr. Shashikiran had assaulted him and his relatives.
