A delegation of supporters of the former Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa in the Bharatiya Janata Party led by leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council D.V. Sadananda Gowda met party national campaign committee chairman Narendra Modi in Gujarat on Monday to seek his early re-entry into the party. The former Ministers Arvind Limbavali and Basavaraj Bommai were also part of the delegation.
According to sources, the decks are already cleared for Mr. Yeddyurappa’s re-inclusion into the BJP as the party does not want to leave anything to chances in the Lok Sabha polls after its dismal performance in the Assembly elections and the recent bypolls to the Legislative Council. “It is now just a question of time before Mr. Yeddyurappa is re-included into the party,” sources in the BJP said.
Confidence
In fact, the BJP core committee that met on Saturday too had decided to go it alone in the Lok Sabha elections after expressing confidence that Mr. Yeddyurappa would rejoin its fold soon.
